The 5G Town
To help demonstrate how 5G Standalone can positively impact a number of industries across the UK, we created a virtual ‘5G town’. This asset has been used for a number of Vodafone campaigns through Teneo; each time expanding the map to reveal more findings.

BACKGROUND
The earliest version of this map was created as part of a PR campaign highlighting how 5G could revolutionise UK sport.
Economic modelling indicated that 5G-powered technology would improve the entire match-day experience. From improving your train journey to the stadium, to higher quality half time snacks – it was imperative that the asset demonstrate how 5G technology was significantly enhancing the match-day experience from beginning to end.

HOW WE DESIGNED IT
We created an interactive map which visualised the match day journey. We opted to illustrate the map in an isometric style, to ensure we could include as much detail and dimension as possible. This particular illustration style was developed by us, specifically for Vodafone and has been used for multiple projects with the brand.
Users can scroll to navigate the map and click into various locations to take a ‘closer look’. Interactive pop-ups throughout the town reveal how 5G can impact specific details of the journey, using economic modelling obtained by Teneo.
The infographic Oath developed was essential to convey the benefits of 5G to the UK’s rugby economy. They successfully developed an interactive visual asset which included every detail of the economic modelling we carried out, helping bring the findings to life.
The infographic was used for the media distribution of the campaign, and was also placed on a big touch screen at a Vodafone event at the Principality Stadium in Wales – allowing attendees to scroll, click, and read through the findings of the research in a digestible and interactive way.
Most importantly, the visual asset Oath developed helped us explain quite technical telecommunications concepts that can be hard to grasp to consumers. They are a joy to work with and always show up as their best selves!

MAP DEVELOPMENT
Since the success of the initial ‘Sport and 5G’ campaign, Vodafone have requested to re-use and adapt this asset for a number of campaigns.
For instance, for a PR campaign about ‘Smart Buildings’, we added more locations to the map, including a hospital, leisure centre, school and police station. Likewise, for a campaign about ‘Smart Transport’, we added a new section to the map. This included motorways and busy roads to demonstrate how 5G can improve the UK’s transport infrastructure.
USE IN PARLIAMENT
As well as being used in the media – these infographics have also used at various events, including the Digital Society Reception at the Houses of Parliament. The infographic was used as a tool to demonstrate to partners, policymakers and regulators how 5G Standalone can help the UK once it’s rolled out across the country.
